Curriculum & Learning

Official policy basis. This page is summarised from the MoBSE Education Policy 2016–2030 currently published on the MoBSE website.

The policy defines curriculum broadly to include content, teaching and learning materials, pedagogy, assessment, school culture and the learning environment.

It calls for systematic curriculum review, clear competency standards, digitisation of curriculum resources, greater use of research, collaborative and enquiry-based learning, and alignment across Lower Basic, Upper Basic and Senior Secondary levels.

Lower Basic places emphasis on literacy, numeracy, life and livelihood skills; Upper Basic broadens competencies; and Secondary Education supports progression to higher education and the labour market.
